The UNCITRAL Secretariat Guide on the New York Convention
Learn about the Project and the content of the Guide and discover how the website may assist you in your daily work as an arbitration practitioner.
UNCITRAL, with the assistance of two experts, Professor Emmanuel Gaillard and Professor George Bermann, has prepared a Guide on the Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards, 1958 (New York). The Guide, presented to the Commission in July 2016, aims to promote the uniform and effective interpretation and application of the New York Convention with a view to limit the risk that State practice might diverge from its spirit. The newyorkconvention1958.org website is an online platform which supplements the Guide by making available case law implementing the New York Convention from multiple common law and civil law jurisdictions, and much more.
With the participation of
Corinne Montineri
Legal Officer at the International Trade Law Division (ITLD) of the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs, UNCITRAL
Professor Emmanuel Gaillard
